Delete your Zaplog account
How to delete your Zaplog account, in the app or by email if you no longer have it, and what happens to your data when you do.
Effective: Last updated:
This page explains how to delete your Zaplog account, the account you use in the Zaplog app for Android and iPhone made by Zaplog Inc., and what happens to your data when you do. You can delete it yourself in the app, or ask us to delete it if you no longer have the app.
Contents
1. Delete it in the app
- Open Zaplog and go to Settings › Account › Delete account.
- Type DELETE and confirm with your fingerprint, face or screen lock.
- Every phone and browser signed in to your account is signed out.
Your account is then scheduled for deletion in 30 days. Signing in again during those 30 days cancels it. When the 30 days are up, a scheduled process removes your account and the data that goes with it.
2. No longer have the app
Email support@zaplog.ai with the subject "Delete my Zaplog account" and the phone number on your account, including the country code. You don't need to install Zaplog again or sign in.
Before we act, we check that the account is yours by sending a one-time code by text message to that number. Once you send the code back, we schedule the deletion exactly as the app does, with the same 30 days, and email you to confirm. We answer every request within 30 days.
3. What is removed
Your profile, your chats on our servers, your stories, your ZapCloud files, your notes, your Organized plans, your ZapFit data, your Zaplog AI conversations and your Zappy memories and automations are removed from Zaplog with your account. Your phone number and username become free for someone else to use.
Messages you sent that were already delivered to other people's phones stay on those phones. We cannot reach them.
4. What is kept
Some records are kept after your account is deleted, for the reasons and periods set out in section 11 of our Privacy Policy. In short:
- Rooms posts and comments. They stay in the Room and are shown as written by a deleted account, so conversations other people took part in still make sense.
- Payment records. Transaction, invoice, refund and dispute records are kept for seven years, or as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Safety records. Reports, bans and other moderation records are kept where they are needed for platform safety and to stop banned people from coming back.
- Backups. Encrypted backups can hold data for up to 90 days before they rotate out.
5. Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through Google Play or the App Store. Cancel it in the Play Store or in your Apple account settings as well, or it will keep renewing. A Zaplog Pro plan paid directly to Zaplog has to be cancelled before the account can be deleted, and the app does that for you.
6. Questions
Write to support@zaplog.ai. Our Privacy Policy explains your other privacy rights and how to use them.
